Starting your medical communications career with my client you will  join a bright international team of c.100 PhD educated staff. This means you get to work every day in a collegiate and intellectually stimulating office environment.

Joining this leading Medical Communications Agency means you get training in writing content that sparks conversations, amongst healthcare professionals and patients, about a disease and its treatment options.  The aim is to raise awareness of products and drive prescriptions.

A Medical Writer reviews clinical trial data and writes engaging copy for a wide range of communication plans such as :

  • Elearning modules for healthcare professions.
  • Slide Decks for presentation at Conference
  • Promotional material for use by Pharmaceutical Sales Reps.

To deliver copy in the correct format a Medical Writer liaises with event organisers, proofreaders, and designers so that copy is managed through to publication.

Because you will create content for various Pharmaceutical Company clients you get exposure to a wide range of therapy areas. As a result you get to stay abreast of cutting edge developments in drug development.

So that you can understand the educational needs of healthcare professionals you will attend Advisory Boards. At an Advisory Board you listen to the views of Key Opinion Leaders. With the insight you get from an Advisory Board you can write copy that best addresses the information needs of your target audience.

Attending International Medical Conferences throughout the year it is your job to assist Speakers in last minute Slide edits. Being at Conference you will get to observe posters and listen to presentations. Of course attending conference means you get to improve your understanding of a therapy area. You will also get to meet with healthcare professionals which adds to your awareness of their communication and educational needs. After the conference you will report back to your client on topics of interest.

  • You will have the right to work in the European Union.
  • Hold an advanced bio-scientific degree such as PhD, PharmD. MD.
  • Have an interest in the commercial drug development process.
  • Because this is a writing job you need a good Publications record.
  • At least one first author publication published is required.
  • You will communicate complex data to GPs, Specialists, and allied Healthcare Professionals.
  • Therefore an aptitude and interest in communicating science to a wide audience is necessary.
  • You meet a wide variety of senior healthcare professionals face to face and as such you must be a confident and professional communicator.
  • Taking initiative and working independently is required while also being a good team player.
  • Managing multiple tasks, changing topics, and juggling priorities is essential in this job. You must therefore demonstrate good organisational skills.
  • All communication is in English and therefore you will be highly competent in written and spoken English.
