A biotech manufacturing company in Sunnyvale, CA is looking for a Supporting Implementation Project Lead FAS to be part of a dynamic Applications Team and represent dual roles – one, as a part-time implementation project support lead and the other as an auxiliary FAS. This position is remote (work from home) with 60% travel and selected candidate does not have to be located in CA.   This is an hourly contract position with a duration of 12 months.

This person will be directly involved with both pre- and post-sales activities for the North America diagnostic sales team based on designated needs at the time. He/she will work with designated Implementation Project Manager FAS to capture and support related Health System Implementation (HSI) projects including technical requirements, customer and workflow needs, tasks assigned to both internal and external individuals, communication among all parties involved in the projects.  The selected candidate will play an integral role in ensuring successful management of Large Health System Implementations leading to high customer satisfaction and attainment of business goals.  Additionally, this person will be assigned to support on-site implementations to provide technical direction and support to customers on instrument operation, assay implementation, and maintenance of company products. Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Technical Support, Service and global business units to identify and assess customer needs in order to provide high quality customer care that exceed expectations.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management:

Responsible for aspects of Health System Implementation (HSI) projects as assigned by FAS management and IPM FAS and supporting needs as outlined in the HSI Action Plan and Standard work.  The designated Supporting Implementation Project Lead is responsible for ensuring successful implementation of HSI to meet the need of customers.

This includes the supporting the following activities:

  • Planning - project definitions/customer needs, work/product breakdown structures, and schedules
  • Tracking – HSI schedules, CRM entries, survey results
  • Coordinating - internal work groups and departments and external organizations that are working on the  project
  • Communicating - all project activities to project team members
  • Reports to FAS Director and provides status updates to FAS and IPM Managers.

FAS:

  • Integrate company instruments (including installation), assays and connectivity solutions into customer laboratories and provide support to the customer as assigned by FAS      management to include Acute, Non-Acute, Xpress and Business Collaboration      implementations. 
  • Follow normal standard work for documentation and customer complaint handling to ensure total customer satisfaction. 
  • Abide by declared annual FAS pectations and team norms to include attendance of FAS calls and meetings.
  • Ensure install and customer management database is updated with full activity traceability.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 3 years of Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in project management software
  • Experience in molecular and microbiology techniques.
  • Experience using current  technology for documentation and communication 
  • Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Management software, Lotus      Notes/Outlook)
  • Demonstrated effective project management skills
  • Demonstrated excellent customer relations/service skills.
  • Self-motivated and independent problem solving
  • Goal oriented, results driven
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Works independently and team orientated
  • Hands-on experience with lab automation systems
  • Hands-on experience with LIS/connectivity
  • Experience with CRM, SAP or similar
  • Travel: 60% of time with overnights
  • Valid driver license

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated expertise in creating project deliverables such as project charter, project management plan, status reports, project timesheets, Gantt Charts, communications lan, schedule and/or record.
  • A clear vision of what determines  successful project for the customer and for the organization
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to work well with people from different disciplines; effective communication with senior management, clients, peers and team members.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope and quality while bringing projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements
