Key functions : 

  • Line manage medical writers with responsibility for conducting appraisals and personal performance reviews. Moreover you will proactively support the career and personal development of your team to include the creation of personal development plans and setting of short to long term objectives.
  • Champion best editorial practice in your team and the wider agency teams - to include delivering editorial training in relation to therapy areas or editorial process 
  • Oversee editorial delivery of your team monitoring overall quality
  • Key adviser to client services teams supporting budget & resource planning 
  • Establish and maintain high level professional relationships with clients, though leaders, medical experts, and stakeholders 
  • Be aware of opportunities for organic business development growth 
  • Take client briefings without the need for supervision 
  • Strategic development of communication plans for promotional educational, and publication plans applying insights gained from analysis of the target market, therapy area, and competitor data
  • Lead client, stakeholder, and internal conversations on tactical and strategic points
  • Lead Writer across one or more accounts creating varied content (promotional, educational, and publications) applying strategic insights to provide practical input to the communication plans 
  • Support the development of meeting & event agendas 
  • Develop core claims, key messages, marketing and communication objectives 
  • Key client and medical expert contact resolving scientific queries 
  • Incorporate complex editorial amends and comments to deliver final document  
  • Attend client & other meetings such as strategic and communication planning 
  • Assist in the recruitment of team members by reviewing candidates’ writing tests and also as a member of the interview panel
  • Liaise with Medical Directors and other team leads as regards project prioritisation
