Senior Director, Global Scientific Affairs, Rare Diseases

Job Description

The purpose of the role is to support the development of patidegib strategy by developing and executing a Scientific Affairs Strategy Inc publication strategy and key initiatives.  Collaborate with Access Lead, Patient Lead and Marketing lead and other key stakeholders to ensure that Launch plan and strategy is aligned to and supportive of the overall Rare disease strategy.  Build pre-launch activities and support commercial readiness in USA, EU+ and relevant international markets .

 

  • Monitor and maintain a scientific base of knowledge related to the disease and molecule
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders develop brand strategy
  • Provide and input scientific insights key global launch materials for example core value dossier
  • Leading the development of patidegib scientific communication including, positioning, messaging, training and key claims
  • Build and ensure external buy in to the scientific narrative.
  • Establish strong relationships with global opinion leaders to establish LEO as an important partner in treating Gorlin syndrome and hfBCC and other LCM indications to obtain clinical and market insights
  • Collaborate internally and externally and communicate market insights. Ensure market insights are reflected in strategic decision making and provide regular updates and insights relating to market performance.  Maintain accurate competitive scientific overview including, competitive scientific insight
  • Data generation activities, suggest and execute plans to create data to support the launch and ongoing growth of Patidegib in the market
  • Establishing engaging, productive and sustainable work relationships with  key internal stakeholders incl. Regulatory, Medical, Market Access, Marketing and regional personnel
  • Scientifically responsible for LMR review
  • Participating in and actively providing input to the Global Strategic Rare Disease related plans and initiatives
  • Participating in and actively providing input to the business development activities
  • Budget management for Scientific Affairs activities
  • Effectively manage vendor relationships
  • Complete all company-based and job-related training as assigned by LEO Pharma within the required timelines
  • Additional duties as assigned by LEO Pharma Management
  • Partner with clinical team on Phase 2 and development programs to ensure timelines and key milestones are delivered.
  • Partner with cross functional team members in developing, recommending and initiating PH IV clinical trials to support life-cycle development.
  • Assist in the assessment of rare in-licensing opportunities.

  • Dermatology experience is desired, but not required
  • Prior rare disease experienced is required
  • People management experience is required
  • The ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 35%)
