Key functions : 

  • Client contact as regards scientific content 
  • Sign-off MedComms & MedEd deliverables (promotional & educational) ensuring clinical accuracy and compliance with pharmaceutical marketing codes of practice and product licences. 
  • Editorial strategy of projects based on your scientific understanding 
  • Mentor and/or line manager associate medical writers and medical writers
  • Review clinical papers to source RWE and other data for inclusion in editorial
  • Write content to brief and for varied HCP and Patient audiences such as slide decks, posters, newsletters, outlines, abstracts, independent papers, scientific articles 
  • Research clinical and scientific material as relevant to client projects 
  • KOL, client, and stakeholder liaison so as to draw on specific requirements and amends to written materials 
  • Liaise with Client Services teams to take client briefings and ensure through scientific and editorial understanding of client’s requirements - including deadlines
  • Support new business pitches by providing scientific inout 
  • Liaise with Medical Directors and other team leads as regards project prioritisation 

 

Desired Skills & Experience

 

Qualifications, Skills, & Experience required : 

  • PhD in life sciences 
  • At least 2 years of experience of medical writing across promotional and educational medical content including some experience of working on Publications accounts 
  • Understanding of the clinical trial / drug development approval process 
  • Experience of providing evidence-based scientific direction to editorial projects 
  • Understanding of Pharmaceutical Marketing & Publication planning Codes of Practice 
  • Ability to work within client brand guidelines 
  • Ability to mentor junior medical writers
