Packaging Development

Location: Ambernath, Maharashtra
Summary: The employee will develop packaging solutions for the formulations that will be developed for the global/ regulated market.
Primary responsibilities:
- Carry out literature search for new technologies, packaging material, innovative delivery devices and summarize findings
- Understand innovator product pack and design and pack development strategy in coordination with regulatory, IP and formulation colleagues
- Develop packaging (primary, secondary) and delivery devices (measuring cups/ dosing syringes, etc.) keeping in mind packaging regulations, product protection (product stability, adsorption of product components, labeling specifications), and patient/user friendly design
- Develop pack testing SOPs, packaging specifications along with other stakeholders including analytical, formulation, marketing.
- Clear and detailed documentation including pack development reports, tech transfer documents, CMC section of dossier
- Identify vendors for packaging material, for packaging of tablets (e.g. blister/strip packing)
- Carry out machine trials, train colleagues on appropriate use and maintenance of packaging equipment, trouble shoot packaging challenges in R&D
- Work with manufacturing sites to communicate packaging equipment changes parts requirements and address challenges
Required skills, knowledge and characteristics:
- Packaging development for products developed for regulated market (e.g. US, EU, AUS/NZ).
- 5-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical packaging and delivery device development
- Must have packaging development experience for various dosage forms including injectables, oral liquids and solids (chewable tablets, powders, granules)
- Good knowledge of global regulatory requirements for packaging (primary, secondary) and delivery/administration devices
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects in parallel with interdisciplinary teams under tight deadlines
