Senior Medical Publications Manager : Job Function 

  • Liaise with the researchers, and the pharmaceutical company in order to develop the publication plan. 
  • Liaising with authors and medical affairs teams at the Pharma client so as to understand the clinical and scientific data regarding the drug
  • Contributing to the development of the global medical publications plan providing strategic guidance together with the Scientific Director 
  • Day to day project management of the client account ensuring timely circulation of the deliverables within the Publications Plan such as Abstracts, Scientific Posters, and Scientific Manuscripts 
  • Allocation of work to juniors
  • Mentoring of associate medical writers.
  • Medical writing 
  • Editing of copy for scientific, clinical, and regulatory compliance 

You will have an opportunity to contribute to Publication Planning thought leadership through attending industry conferences and writing papers - for example ISMPP.  

As a senior member of the medical communications team you will lead on a particular disease area becoming the team expert as regards clinical data and publications strategy. 

Accounts are high value and complex - usually with a minimum of 200 deliverables. This means you benefit from stimulating work. 

 

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Life Sciences PhD
  • Understanding of the editorial materials distributed within a Publications Plan 
  • Ability to liaise with clients regarding the strategic objectives of a Publications Plan
  • Experience of medical writing to include writing of Scientific Posters, Abstracts, and Scientific Manuscripts for publication in peer review journals 
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a Medical Writer, Medical Publications Manager, Programme Manager, or Account Manager.
  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not possible for this vacancy)
