Job Description

Client 

Founded in 2006, my client are a vertically integrated optical group specialising in optometry services and distribution, with strong core values of integrity, superior service, and exceptional quality.

This clinically focused optometrist practice expands to 38 stores, as well as wholesale distribution, eye safety divisions and multiple e-commerce sites.

My clients mission is to improve vision and confidence leading to healthier and happier lives & to make a real difference in the optical field.
 
 

Reports To
Operations Manager & Professional Services Manager
 
Key Duties

  • Performance of eye examinations to a high professional standard.
  • Provide professional advice on remedies, care regimes and optical correction to address patient needs.
  • Order drugs and other pharmaceutical items as required.
  • Work with dispensing/sales staff to ensure a thorough 3-way-hand-over is undertaken with every patient and that recommendations for optical solutions are discussed with the sales staff and patient. 
  • Ensure correct billing for both Medicare and private consults.
  • Ensure appropriate conversion rate of eye examinations to the sale of optical appliances on the same day.
  • Maintain a clean, dust free, clutter free, and hygienic patient environment within the testing room.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Formal qualifications in Optometry recognised in Australia and associated Medicare provider number.
  • Professional indemnity insurance and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Patient focussed with a real passion for Optometry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
